Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (IN P)’s Criminal Investigation Agency uncovered a long-running illegal firearms syndicate in West Java on Sunday (12/4/2026), arresting a veteran master gunsmith known as "Ki Bedil" after two decades of operation.
"Despite operating for 20 years, we have finally brought this suspect into custody," said SeniorSuperintendent Arsya Khadafi, the Head of the INP’s Mobile Brigade Unit (Satresmob), as cited by antaranews.com.
The crackdown began on 6 April 2026 at a restaurant in Sumedang, where police first apprehended a broker identified as AS. Following a coordinated raid across Rancaekek and Bandung, investigators seized a SIG Sauer P226 pistol, unfinished long-barreled rifles, ammunition, and specialized drilling tools.
Suspect TS, alias Ki Bedil, was identified as the primary manufacturer specializing in illegal revolvers for street criminals and poachers. Both suspects are currently undergoing intensive interrogation as authorities work to trace the wider distribution network and prevent further proliferation of illicit weaponry in the region.
