Personnel from the West Java Regional Police's Mobile Brigade (Brimob) Pelopor Company 1 Battalion D  responded swiftly to assist residents grappling with drought in Garut Regency. Presently, the El-Nino phenomenon is causing drought conditions in various parts of Indonesia. In commemoration of the 78th Anniversary of the Brimob of the Indonesian National Police (INP), a social service initiative known as the Clean Water Operation was undertaken by the Brimob Unit of the West Java Regional Police, covering the districts of Cigedug, Malangbong, and Sukawening. This undertaking involved the distribution of vital clean water resources directly to the residents. "The drought affecting several regions of Indonesia has resulted in a water crisis. As police officers, especially the Brimob Unit of the West Java Regional Police, we stand united with the community in addressing this critical issue, aiming to alleviate the hardships faced by our fellow citizens. This underscores our unwavering commitment to community welfare," said the Police Senior Superintendent Yuri Karsono, the Brimob Commander of the West Java Regional Police, on Wednesday (20/9/23). The distribution of clean water to the three districts was facilitated through the deployment of an Armor Water Canon (AWC) vehicle. The distribution of clean water assistance will also be extended to other areas in need, he added. "In facing the drought phenomenon in the Garut region, the Brimob Pelopor Company 1 Battalion D of the West Java Regional Police is actively engaged in the distribution of clean water, in collaboration with local authorities. We hope that this activity can be carried out comprehensively in each area affected by the clean water crisis, and we hope that its benefits can be felt by the surrounding community," he concluded.
