Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) officially began enforcing the new Criminal Code (KUHP) and Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP) nationwide on Friday (2/1/2026), following their entry into force.
“All law enforcement officers within the INP are now implementing the new KUHP and KUHAP as of today,” said Brigadier General Trunoyudo Andiko, the INP Public Relations Division Head of Public Information Bureau, as quoted by antaranews.com.
He explained that the INP;s Criminal Investigation Agency has finalized and issued operational guidelines and investigation administration formats, which have been formally signed by the Chief of the Criminal Investigation Agency. The implementation applies across all the INP’s law enforcement units.
The new legal framework was approved by the House of Representatives (DPR) in November 2025, which aimed to align substantive and procedural criminal law to ensure uniform law enforcement, legal certainty, and professionalism across Indonesia.
