Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) has confirmed its full commitment to implement the new Criminal Code (KUHP) and Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), which officially came into force on 2 January 2026.
The enforcement is a major legal transition affecting law enforcement, prosecutors, courts, and the wider justice system nationwide.
“TheAGO is fully prepared to implement Law No. 1/2023 on the Criminal Code and Law No. 20 of 2025 on the Criminal Procedure Code,” said AGO Head of Legal Information Center Anang Supriatna on Friday (2/1/2026), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Institutionally, the AGO has coordinated with key stakeholders, including the Indonesian National Police (INP), regional administrations, and the Supreme Court, through formal cooperation agreements. Technically, prosecutors have undergone extensive capacity-building programs, including technical training, focus group discussions, and revised standard operating procedures to ensure uniform case handling across Indonesia.
