inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) held a seminar entitled “Reconstructing National Identity, Uniting the Archipelago to Create a Conscious and Character-Based Police”.
The activity, which took place in South Jakarta, was a strategic effort by INP to strengthen the sense of nationalism imbued with national identity amidst the dynamics of international geopolitical tensions.
The Assistant Chief of Police for Human Resources, Inspector General Anwar opened and served as the keynote speaker at the seminar.
He says that the seminar is part of INP’s efforts in providing solutions to improve the institutional body in improving its members.
Furthermore, this seminar was the beginning of the development of a curriculum and modules that emphasize the importance of building the character of police personnel based on three main pillars: spiritual, intellectual and cultural, in order to strengthen the National identity.
"This seminar is a small part of the real and systematic steps of INP to improve itself by building superior, professional and character-based police forces through spiritual, intellectual and cultural pillars." said Anwar.
The seminar, attended in person by 250 police members from INP Headquarters and regional police throughout Indonesia who also attended virtually. The seminar focused on internalizing spiritual, intellectual, and cultural values in developing professional, humanistic, and character-driven INP personnel to protect and improve public trust.
"The main objective of this seminar is to improve members' understanding of national identity, internalize the "Character Awareness" model in their daily duties, build collective commitment, and ultimately, realize a responsive police force with strong character and increased public trust in the institution," Anwar concluded.
