inp.polri.go.id - Medan. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo confirmed that INP will conduct inspections and prepare security measures for the Muhammadiyah Congress to ensure the entire series of events runs safely, smoothly, and successfully.
This was conveyed by the Chief Sigit after delivering a Public Lecture at the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) at the University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra (UMSU) in Medan, North Sumatra, on Monday (9/28/2026).
Sigit stated that INP will oversee the implementation of the Congress as part of their commitment to ensuring the security for all participants and the public throughout the event.
"Of course, we will be conducting inspections and hope that the Congress will proceed safely, smoothly, and successfully," said Chief Sigit.
In addition to ensuring security, he hopes that the Muhammadiyah Congress will produce leaders who are capable of serving as role models and will continue to lead the organization in contributing to society, the nation, and the state.
According to the INP Chief, Muhammadiyah has a long track record of nation-building, including through its educational role, which has produced numerous national figures and leaders. Therefore, the organization's sustainability and consolidation process are expected to continuously strengthen its service to the community.
Sigit also believes that Muhammadiyah students possess essential assets to become the next generation and future leaders. In addition to gaining knowledge, students are equipped with values of faith and concern for various social issues, including environmental issues.
In the 2026/2027 academic year, UMSU recorded 6,027 students registering and re-registering during the odd semester. Chief Sigit encouraged students to utilize their educational time to build their skills, character, and prepare them to face future challenges.
He hopes that all elements can work together to maintain a conducive atmosphere so that the Muhammadiyah Congress can proceed orderly and benefit both the organization and the Indonesian nation.
