inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) continues to support the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG), a government program that strengthens the food supply chain ecosystem, from local production to the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG).
The INP Chief continues to encourage his staff to play a role in supporting the implementation of this government program, including by optimizing food potential in each region. This implementation is carried out not only through the construction and operation of SPPGs, but also by strengthening food production, distribution, food quality, and community involvement.
Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, Head of Public Information Bureau of the INP Public Relations Division, stated that the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police actions in Muara Gembong, Bekasi Regency, exemplify the implementation of this directive.
"MBG is a government program that requires the support of all stakeholders. The INP Chief has instructed his staff to support its implementation in accordance with their respective duties and regional potential. One way to do this is by strengthening the supply chain so that community food production can be linked to SPPG needs," Trunoyudo said on Monday (9/28/2026).
Based on data from the INP's MBG Task Force as of September 28, 2026, there are 1,502 Police SPPG in various stages of development. Of these, 841 are operational, 390 are in preparation for operation, and 271 are still under construction.
This network is projected to serve approximately 2,102,500 beneficiaries and employ approximately 42,050 workers.
According to Trunoyudo, the expansion of the SPPG network requires a strengthening of the supply chain to ensure sustainable food availability.
"The INP Chief directed that our support do not stop at SPPG development. Staff are also encouraged to identify production potential in their respective regions and build relationships between food producers and SPPG needs," he explained.
One implementation carried out by the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police is the development of a food area in Muara Gembong.
The area, which previously had around 60 ponds, has grown to 128 ponds. During the main harvest on Monday (9/28/2026), approximately 10 tons of fish and shrimp and 4,000 chicken eggs were produced.
The fishery products consisted of 5,000 kilograms of tilapia fish, 3,000 kilograms of catfish, 1,000 kilograms of whiteleg shrimp, and 1,000 kilograms of giant tiger prawn.
A total of 5,171 kilograms of fish were prepared to support the needs of 12 SPPG Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, which serve approximately 30,997 beneficiaries.
The distribution used vehicles equipped with ice boxes to maintain the quality and freshness of the food. Trunoyudo said this method could serve as an example for other regional police departments.
