Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has initiated the construction of a new housing complex for Samarinda police officers to improve their welfare and boost service quality.
“This is part of our welfare program for police personnel. With proper housing, we hope police services to the public will also improve,” he said during the groundbreaking ceremony in Sungai Pinang, East Kalimantan, on Saturday (17/5/2025).
Built on 1.46 hectares, the facility will feature 15 homes for officers, 31 homes for enlisted personnel, a three-floor apartment with 30 rooms, a mosque for 85 people, and a hall for 96 people. The project costs IDR 65.57 billion and is scheduled for completion in 240 days.
Chief Sigit emphasized that decent housing is key to performance.
“When officers have proper housing and well-planned facilities, the natural consequence should be excellent public service,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
