Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo announced four key programs aimed at supporting the government's food security under President Prabowo Subianto’s priority initiatives.
“We fully support the government’s food security programs, particularly food self-sufficiency and the provision of free nutritious meals,” said Sigit during a meeting with the House of Representatives (DPR)' Commission III on Monday (11/11/2024).
The programs include the establishment of nutritious food gardens and the optimization of unused land.
“We’ve implemented food garden programs with Bhabinkamtibmas officers as the driving force, educating the public on food production at home,” he explained.
The INP collaborated with the Ministry of Agriculture to utilize idle land for planting crops such as corn and sweet potatoes, as well as creating fishponds and livestock farming.
The INP has also initiated distribution oversight programs to support food self-sufficiency, alongside recruiting personnel with expertise in agriculture, nutrition, and public health. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Agriculture has been established to further bolster these efforts.
