Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo strengthened the institution’s commitment to gender equality during the INP Award in Support of the UN Women “HeForShe” Movement 2025 held in Jakarta on Thursday (27/11/2025).
He explained that female police officers, known as Polwan, have equal opportunities to serve in every operational area alongside their male counterparts. Chief Sigit asserted that gender equality must be implemented through collaboration, institutional support, and continuous improvement in public service.
“Today’s event reflects our strong commitment to gender equality. We want to ensure that Polwan plays an equal role and brings meaningful contributions alongside their male colleagues,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Chief Sigit also highlighted that Polwan holds crucial roles in community protection, particularly for vulnerable groups. According to him, female officers are often required to handle cases involving women, children, and other groups needing sensitive and specialized care.
He instructed regional police chiefs nationwide to reinforce gender equality measures and improve service capacity at all operational levels.
