inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo revealed that the number of traffic accidents decreased by 3.23 percent during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming period.

Sigit made this statement along with all relevant stakeholders after monitoring security during the Eid al-Fitr Takbiran (Eid al-Fitr) night at the Merdeka Field Integrated Post at the Medan Sub-regional Police Headquarters, North Sumatra, on Friday evening (3/20/2026).

Meanwhile, Sigit said that the fatality rate also decreased by 24.61 percent compared to Operation Ketupat 2025.

"Therefore, of course, I would like to thank all travelers," said Sigit.

Meanwhile, Sigit also urged all travelers to prioritize safety. He asked the public to utilize the service posts that have been prepared for rest.

"We continue to urge everyone to be careful on the road, utilize rest areas, take advantage of integrated rest posts, and avoid rushing to get there, which could endanger your own safety or the safety of other road users," said Sigit.

Furthermore, Sigit also instructed all personnel to provide optimal security and service during Eid al-Fitr prayers throughout Indonesia.
