Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and Indonesian Military (TNI) General Agus Subiyanto shared an embrace when questioned about a recent clash between Navy and West Papua Regional Police Mobile Brigade members in Sorong, Southwest Papua.

"They've embraced," Chief Sigit said with a smile, embracing Commander Agus during their meeting at the Office of Jasa Marga KM 70 Tol Cikampek Utama, West Java, on Monday (15/4/2024).

In front of the media, Chief Sigit and Commander Agus exchanged handshakes, as reported by antaranews.com

"There's no issue; it's been resolved," Commander Agus added.

He highlighted that the military and the police continued territorial activities in Papua to accelerate local development and welfare initiatives.

However, Commander Agus also acknowledged ongoing disruptions from the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).

"Yesterday, one of our company commanders was shot and killed, and disturbances continued during the funeral. We urge them not to resort to such actions," he said.

The clash involved the  Navy Military Police (Pomal) and the Mobile Brigade members in Sorong, resulting in injuries and damaged facilities.
