Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo is set to appoint the candidate for the position of Deputy INP Chief following the retirement of Commissioner General Agus Andrianto.

“The selection is awaiting guidance from the INP leadership. The INP Chief will ensure the best person is appointed,” said Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, the INP Head of Public Relations Division on Tuesday (21/10/2024).

The next Deputy will be selected from the ranks of three-star generals or high-ranking officials, according to antaranews.com.

It came after Chief Agus was appointed as the Minister of Immigration and Corrections in the new cabinet under President Prabowo Subianto. In addition to Chief Agus, Commissioner General (ret) Purwadi Arianto has joined the administration as Deputy Minister for Bureaucratic Reform.

The formal resignation of Chief Agus from the police force was confirmed in a presidential decree, effective 19 October  2024.
