inp.polri.go.id - East Java. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo visited the grave of the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia, K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur), in Jombang Regency, East Java, on Saturday (6/20/2026).

This series of his visits to past-president's graves was part of the activities commemorating the 80th Bhayangkara Day, which falls on July 1, 2026.

During his visit, General Sigit was welcomed by the caretaker of the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, KH. Abdul Hakim Machfudz and received a turban garland from him.

Gus Dur served as the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia from October 20, 1999, to July 23, 2001.

President Gus Dur continued his reform agenda by promoting military professionalism and civilian supremacy in government.

During his leadership, the separation of the military and the police was constitutionally established through MPR Decree No. VI of 2000 concerning the Separation of the military and the police, and MPR Decree No. VII of 2000 concerning the Roles of the military and police.

KH. Abdurrahman Wahid is remembered as the "Father of Pluralism" for his persistent advocacy of pluralism and inter-ethnic tolerance in Indonesia.
