inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Transportation is strengthening land transportation safety during the 2026 school holidays by intensifying bus safety inspections at terminals, parking lots, toll roads, and strategic routes.

"We are intensifying traffic and road transportation safety inspections on operating buses," said Director General of Land Transportation, Aan Suhanan, Friday (6/19/2026).

He stated that his party has issued Circular Letter Number SE DRJD 11 of 2026 concerning the Implementation of Traffic and Road Transportation Safety Inspections During the 2026 School Holidays.

Aan said the circular he signed contains guidelines for implementing ramp checks during the 2026 school holidays to ensure operating public transportation meets technical requirements.

"Traffic and road transportation safety inspections will be conducted at passenger terminals and bus terminals from June 22 to July 12, 2026," explained Aan.

During the inspections, officers will inspect various aspects of vehicle safety, including the vehicle's technical condition and completeness of administrative requirements.

"Inspections will be conducted on buses by provincial or district/city transportation agencies and the Land Transportation Management Center, according to their respective authorities. The results must be reported to the Directorate General of Land Transportation no later than July 13, 2026," he said.

Aan stated that ramp checks will also be conducted at several strategic locations, including toll roads and non-toll national roads, including rest areas, toll road exits, and alternative routes, from July 3-12, 2026, while still ensuring smooth traffic flow.

He further stated that to support the effectiveness of inspections, ramp checks outside bus terminals and pools also involve other agencies such as the police, Jasa Raharja, and other relevant stakeholders.

Aan emphasized that buses undergoing inspection and found to have committed violations will be subject to sanctions in accordance with applicable regulations. Sanctions can include ticketing for administrative violations and buses being banned from operating until the main and supporting technical requirements are met.

He also reminded the public to be more careful in choosing public transportation during school holidays. He believes that safety is a top priority in the provision of road transportation services, especially during times of increased public mobility, such as during school holidays.
