Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) have deployed 11,625 personnel to assist disaster response efforts following floods and landslides across Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, responding to government directives and urgent humanitarian needs.

Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said on Friday (19/12/2025) the deployment was direct attention from President Prabowo Subianto.

“The INP has deployed approximately 11,625 personnel on the ground in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra to support evacuation, emergency facilities, and ongoing operations,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com

The personnel are drawn from regional police units, with 5,064 officers in Aceh, 4,277 in North Sumatra, and 2,284 in West Sumatra. Additional support includes 239 reinforcements scheduled to arrive on 23 December 2025.

THe INP has also placed 1,000 reserve officers on standby during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year security operation, ready to be redirected if conditions worsen. In North Sumatra, officers are prioritizing repairs to churches ahead of Christmas celebrations.
