Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) will deploy 4,520 personnel for Operation Tribata Jaya to ensure the security of Pope Francis' visit to Indonesia from 3-6 September 2024.

Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, the INP Public Relations Division Head of Public Information, announced on Wednesday (14/8/2024) that the deployment includes 1,077 officers from the INP Headquarters and 3,443 from the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police.

Pope Francis is scheduled to arrive in Indonesia on 3 September 2024, with meetings planned with President Joko Widodo at the Merdeka Palace on 4 September 2024. The following day, the Pope will attend an interfaith meeting at Istiqlal Mosque and later meet beneficiaries of charity organizations at the Indonesian Bishops' Conference (KWI) office.

On 5 September 2024, Pope Francis will celebrate a large Mass at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta, expected to attract thousands of Catholics.

Operation Tribata Jaya will run from 2 to 7 September 2024, also securing the International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2024 at the Jakarta Convention Center.

The visit will mark Pope Francis' first stop on his September 2024 tour, which will also include Papua New Guinea, Timor Leste, and Singapore. His 2020 visit was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
