Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) has deployed search and rescue (SAR) units, medical teams, and emergency logistics to reinforce response efforts following the magnitude 7.7 earthquake in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, on Saturday (15/8/2026).
Head of Public Relations Division Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir said that the INP Headquarters and the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police are prioritizing public safety and immediate evacuation efforts despite ongoing communication disruptions across parts of Flores.
"The INP stands with the people affected by the Flores earthquake. Safety and evacuation remain our primary priorities," Chief Johnny said in Jakarta.
The INP dispatched a company-level unit (SSK) of Brimob SAR officers alongside medical doctors, DVI specialists, and portable Wi-Fi equipment via CN-295 aircraft from Pondok Cabe airport.
Additional support, including K9 search units, naval vessels, and standby personnel from nearby regional police forces in West Nusa Tenggara REgional Police, Bali, and East Java, are prepared for rapid deployment.
