Inp.polri.go.id - Deli Serdang.  The Indonesian National Police (INP) will begin operating a cargo helicopter on Thursday to accelerate the delivery of logistics to residents stranded in isolated areas following severe natural disasters in North Sumatra. 

“The cargo helicopter will operate tomorrow and carry goods with a capacity of 650 kilograms,” INP Deputy Chief Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo said on Wednesday (3/12/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The aircraft will support aid distribution to communities that have not yet received assistance due to damaged access routes. The INP expects the operation to significantly improve delivery speed and reach previously inaccessible locations.

Chief Dedi praised the work of the North Sumatra Regional Police and local responders for restoring police services in Central Tapanuli, and acknowledged the DVI team’s swift identification of victims despite challenging conditions.
