The Indonesian National Police (INP) mobilized extensive disaster response measures on Monday (7/9/2026), deploying Armored Water Cannon (AWC) vehicles, medical services, and Search and Rescue (SAR) units across Lampung, Banten, Jakarta, and West Java to mitigate Mount Anak Krakatau's volcanic ashfall.

Regional police forces deployed tactical water cannons to wash ash deposits off major arterial roads while distributing protective face masks and providing free medical checkups at transportation hubs, including Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

"The INP steps forward to serve and assist communities facing environmental hazards," INP Public Relations Division Head of Public Information Bureau Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko said. "Water cannons clear road surfaces, masks and healthcare are provided, and SAR and Sabhara patrol units remain on standby."

He urged the public to remain calm, wear protective face coverings outdoors, and report emergencies through the official Police 110 call center.
