INP Deploys 198 Trainees to Prevent Forest Fires Across Four Provinces
Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) deployed 198 police trainees on Sunday (30/8/2026), to conduct direct community education aimed at preventing forest and land fires across four priority regional police jurisdictions: West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, and South Sumatra.
Working alongside local Bhabinkamtibmas officers, community figures, and indigenous leaders, the officers engaged residents in direct dialogue to discourage land clearing through burning.
"The fires cannot wait. Public awareness must be built before fires occur. Trainees are directly engaging communities to ensure land clearing is not done by burning," said Head of the Public Information Bureau at the INP Public Relations DivisionBrigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko.
Police are maintaining early detection efforts and legal enforcement against violators alongside these preventive measures.
