Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) deployed additional Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officers and equipment from various regions to bolster forest and land fire suppression operations across fire-prone provinces.
On Saturday (17/10/2026), the Lampung Regional Police dispatched six Brimob officers alongside two Armored Water Cannon (AWC) units under operational control assistance (BKO) to support the South Sumatra Regional Police.
Head of the INP Public Relations Division Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir said that the deployment reflects cross-unit coordination within the INP to accelerate fire suppression and minimize environmental impacts.
"The INP is deploying officers and supporting equipment from various regional units according to field needs," He said. "This support is expected to accelerate extinguishing efforts, increase readiness, and minimize the impact of fires on the community and environment."
The movement follows earlier deployments, including 200 Brimob Officers personnel to South Sumatra on 15 October 2026 and 200 Brimob officers from West Nusa Tenggara to Central Kalimantan on 16 October 2026.
