Inp.polri.go.id - Palangka Raya. The Central Kalimantan Regional Police welcomed 210 operational control assistance (BKO) officers, comprising 200 Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officers from the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police and 10 medical officers from the Indonesian National Police (INP) Medical Center, to reinforce forest and land fire (karhutla) suppression efforts across Central Kalimantan.
Central Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Iwan Kurniawan announced the deployment during an assembly in Palangka Raya on Saturday (17/10/2026).
"Under the orders of the INP Chief, today the Central Kaliamantan Police received BKO officers to optimize the forest and land fire response efforts across Central Kalimantan," he said.
The 200 Brimob officers will reinforce existing task forces across six high-risk priority areas: Palangka Raya, Pulang Pisau, Kapuas, Katingan, West Kotawaringin, and East Kotawaringin.
Although recent rainfall extinguished major head fires, personnel are conducting critical peatland rewetting and cooling operations to prevent re-ignition. Meanwhile, the medical officers will establish medical posts and oxygen houses to assist active field officers and affected local residents.
