INP Deputy Chief Plants Rice to Mitigate El Nino Impact

Inp.polri.go.id - Banjar.  In a measure to anticipate the potential adverse effects of El Nino, Commissioner General Agus Andrianto., the Deputy Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP), participated in rice planting and harvesting activities in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan on Tuesday (3/10/2023). Approximately 19,433 hectares of land were harvested, while an additional 123 hectares were designated for rice cultivation. The objective was to ensure food security and forestall potential rice supply shortages due to climate-related shifts. The event was part of the "Polri Presisi Untuk Negeri" (Precise INP for the Nation) initiative, reflecting its commitment at safeguarding communities against the impacts of climate change.  Inspector General l Andi Rian Djajadi, the South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief and other senior officials at the South Kalimantan Regional Police attended the event. The INP Deputy Chief  stressed the importance of collaborative efforts between law enforcement, the community, and relevant stakeholders to tackle climate change challenges. He also emphasized the significance of environmental awareness and resource conservation to maintain the sustainability of food production. In addition to their involvement in rice planting and harvesting, General Agus and General Andi distributed 500 packages of basic needs supplies and rice seedlings to local farmers, further demonstrating their commitment to supporting the community.
