Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) stated that they communicated with security offices around the vicinity of ASEAN Summit venue regarding road segments passed by delegates. Preemptive I Task Force Chief, Inspector General Hari Sudwijanto stated that they required cooperation with the offices for smooth passing of the delegates. Furthermore, INP also coordinated with hotel security personnel where the delegates are staying, which resulted comfort for the delegates. “Thankfully everything went well,” says Hari. The security operation for the 43rd ASEAN Summit involves the participation of over 6.000 personnel, divided into eight task forces stationed within ring 3. These task forces encompass a spectrum of functions including preemptive measures, preventive actions, security protocols, convoy escort duties, legal enforcement, public relations efforts, operational support, and anti-terrorism operations. The 43rd ASEAN Summit itself is scheduled to convene from September 5th to 7th, 2023 in Jakarta. This event brings together delegations from 22 countries, including the ASEAN members, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Timor-Leste.
