Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The International Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police (INP) repatriated a murder fugitive from Malaysia on Sunday.

INP Head of International Relations Division Inspector General Untung Widyatmoko confirmed in Jakarta on Monday (12/10/2026)) that the suspect, identified by the initials MKA, was arrested through international police cooperation involving the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the Indonesian Police Attaché in Kuala Lumpur.

The suspect was wanted as the primary suspect in the murder of a female victim, identified as SNI, in Surabaya, East Java, on 25 June 2026. The victim was found deceased with multiple stab wounds. Two days after the incident, suspect MKA fled to Malaysia via the Surabaya–Dumai–Port Dickson route with assistance from an employment agency.

Upon arriving in Malaysia, the suspect worked for a contracting firm in Sungai Buloh, Selangor, under illegal immigration status, as reported by antaranews.com.

Following intelligence coordination between the Indonesian Police Attaché and Malaysian law enforcement, the E3 Special Branch of PDRM Bukit Aman, alongside the Selangor and Sungai Buloh police departments, detained suspect MKA on 2 October 2026 for immigration violations. Malaysian prosecutors issued an expulsion order on 7 October 2026, paving the way for his deportation to Jakarta on Sunday.

Following his return to Indonesia, the International Relations Division transferred suspect MKA to the Surabaya Sub-regional Police Unit of Criminal Investigation for formal legal prosecution.

Chief Untung said that cross-border law enforcement coordination reflects the "Police with the Community" commitment to delivering justice for victims and ensuring fugitives face accountability under Indonesian law.
