Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) are handling 341 criminal reports involving forest and land fires affecting a total area of 30,566.55 hectares as of Monday.
"In this recap, there are several corporate suspects that we will certainly name soon," said Brigadier General Mohammad Irhamni, the Director of the INP Criminal Investigation Agency’s Special Crimes, disclosing the progress during a press conference on Tuesday (29/9/2026).
A total of 245 reports involve individual accountability, leading to 196 suspects named across 5,181.61 hectares. Meanwhile, 96 reports involve corporate liability covering 25,384.94 hectares, with 90 cases under investigation.
Investigations span multiple regional police jurisdictions, including West Kalimantan, Riau, Central Kalimantan, and South Sumatra., as reported by antaranews.com.
Joint teams of investigators and experts continue traversing remote, forested terrain to inspect burn sites, gather evidence, and enforce compliance alongside relevant ministries and stakeholders.
