inp.polri.go.id - Pangkalpinang. The Bangka Belitung Regional Police took action against 229 vehicles suspected of misusing subsidized fuel purchases between September 25-27, 2026.
The enforcement actions were carried out at several public fuel stations (SPBU), primarily in the Belitung and East Belitung regions. Of the hundreds of vehicles caught, the most common violation was repeated refueling.
Bangka Belitung Regional Police Public Relations Chief, Senior Superintendent Agus Sugiyarso, stated that the enforcement actions were carried out in response to long queues at several gas stations, particularly in Belitung and East Belitung Regencies.
"The enforcement actions by us, from September 25-27, 2026, resulted in 229 vehicles being netted," Agus stated on Monday (9/28/2026).
Of these, 144 vehicles were found to have repeatedly refueled. Police also found 70 vehicles using fake license plates and 15 vehicles using modified fuel tanks.
In addition to controlling the vehicles, police also arrested three individuals in Belitung Regency suspected of being involved in the misuse of subsidized Pertalite fuel.
Two of the individuals arrested were IG (21) and ES (21), who are suspected of acting as shunters. The other individual, SU (53), was a gas station nozzle attendant in Badau Village, Belitung.
"Their modus operandi was to repeatedly fill up or shun Pertalite fuel using a My Pertamina Barcode Card and with the assistance of one of the gas station nozzle attendants," Agus said.
The three individuals are currently undergoing investigation at the Belitung Sub-regional Police Headquarters. Police also confiscated six jerry cans containing a total of 120 liters of Pertalite, two cars, and 19 My Pertamina Barcode Cards as evidence.
From the raid, police discovered a pattern of repeatedly purchasing subsidized fuel using barcode cards. This method is suspected of being used to obtain Pertalite in larger quantities than required.
This practice is believed to cause long lines at gas stations because repeated purchases reduce the availability of fuel for those in need.
The Bangka Belitung Regional Police emphasized that handling subsidized fuel misuse is carried out through preemptive, preventive, and repressive measures.
