Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) have launched a manhunt for a Malaysian man, who is the alleged mastermind behind a large-scale cryptocurrency and stock trading scam involving platforms JYPRX, SYIPC, and LEEDSX.
“Suspect LWC has been named a suspect, and we are issuing a red notice through Interpol,” said Brigadier General Himawan Bayu Aji, the Director of Cyber Crime at the INP Criminal Investigation Agencyi, on Wednesday (19/3/2025).
Suspect LWC is among six suspects, with two other fugitives, identified as SR and AW, both Indonesian nationals, still at large. Three other suspects—identified as WZ, MSD, and AN—have been arrested.
Suspect WZ, detained in Medan on 9 March 2025, allegedly coordinated the creation of nominee accounts and shell companies.
“He has been doing this since 2021,” Chief Himawan said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The suspects lured victims through social media ads, promising returns of up to 200%. Withdrawals became impossible in January, leading victims to report the scam.
The suspects face charges under Ithe Electronic Transactions Law, fraud statutes, and anti-money laundering laws.
