inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP) General of Police Listyo Sigit Prabowo asked the ranks of the Security Maintenance Agency (Baharkam) and the Mobile Brigade Corps to be present in eradicating acts of thuggery in society.

According to him, this was discussed in the Technical Working Meeting (Rakernis) of Baharkam and Mobile Brigade Corps which was held at the Police Science College (STIK) PTIK, Jakarta, Thursday (5/15/2025).

He also emphasized that his staff should always communicate with the community, which other than improving their relationship with the public, they can also be quick in responding to the public report.

"Provide a quick response in accordance with our duties in protecting, caring for, and serving the community in the field of security and other things," he said.

He said that currently INP have held Operation Pekat (Social Disease) which one of the focuses is to take action against thuggery. According to him, the operation is usually held routinely, but this time it was held to respond to the phenomenon of thuggery that has emerged everywhere.

According to him, INP already has a strategy to be able to reduce thuggery in the community. He said that the police will also coordinate with the local government and related policy makers to find a solution so that there are no more thuggery actions that harm the community.

"We have implemented it since May 1, and of course this will continue to run, adjusted to the needs," he said.
