Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Directorate of Cyber Crime (Dittipidsiber) of Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Unit launched immediate investigation following data leak of General Election Commission (KPU).
The Director of Cyber Crime Brigadier General Adi Vivid Agustiadi Bachtiar states that KPU data leak indication was found during cyber patrol.
Following their initial investigation, they have found the account in social media X who leaks the data. Police reveals that the username of the account is @p4c3n0g3. The account allegedly sold the information of ID Number, Family Card Number, to e-KTP information.
The investigation follows the viral news of KPU data leak by a person who claims to be a hacker named Jimbo. In a post boasting his hacking performance, he claims that he has breached 252 million of ID Numbers query, along with the detail of their address, place and date of birth, to their voting place.
Jimbo wants to sold the 252,327,304 data for 2 BTC or the acquivalent of IDR 572 million.
