Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) intensified nationwide anti-narcotics enforcement through integrated joint operations targeting key drug distribution hubs across Jakarta, North Sumatra, Riau, South Sumatra, Sulawesi, and Kalimantan.

INP Chief General Suyudi Ario Seto highlighted that the synchronized crackdown reflects a firm commitment to eliminating illicit drug networks across Indonesia.

"I am determined to cleanse Indonesia from illicit drug distribution, which has become increasingly pervasive. Our law enforcement actions must be even more aggressive," he said on Tuesday (13/10/2026).

Since early October 2026, the INP units have operated alongside the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), the Indonesian Military (TNI), and local administration authorities to conduct targeted raids across high-risk zones. Chief Suyudi highlighted that uncovering narcotics networks requires inter-agency coordination to restrict syndicate operations effectively, as reported by antaranews.com.

In Jakarta, joint operations on Friday swept Kampung Ambon in Cengkareng and Kampung Boncos in Palmerah, resulting in the detention of 24 people alongside the seizure of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Meanwhile, in North Sumatra, operations across nine locations led to the detention of 36 people, including eight alleged dealers, alongside the seizure of 102 grams of methamphetamine and related evidence.

Enforcement efforts in Riau resulted in the detention of 68 people during a raid on a nightlife venue, where 63 tested positive for narcotics following urine screenings. Further sweeps across Makassar, Palu, Palembang, and Palangka Raya yielded additional significant arrests, including in the Borta area of Tallo District, Makassar, where officers detained 104 individuals and three suspected drug kingpins.

Police procedures explicitly distinguish between substance users and network operators, directing individuals identified strictly as users to undergo rehabilitation, whereas dealers and syndicate leaders face formal criminal prosecution. Aligning with the "Police with the Community" approach, the INP leadership affirmed that cross-agency law enforcement and community engagement will continue until supply chains are disrupted.
