Inp.polri.go.id – West Java. West Java Police PR Chief Grand Commissioner Ibrahim Tompo conveys that police members are required to be neutral on election as regulated on Law No. 2 of 2002. He states that Indonesia National Police (INP) neutrality during election has become the main focus in maintaining state democracy integrity. INP is committed to be only as the law enforcement of the election that is neutral and unbiased. "INP officials always reminds our responsibility as the law enforcement to maintain election safety and security without being involved in the politics," quote Ibrahim on Saturday (12/2/2023). Ibrahim adds that violating neutrality would be punished with great consequences as INP members are forbidden from actively participating on politic activities such as becoming the politic party members or supporting one of the candidates. "Neutrality of INP in election is an important commitment as we aim to maintain state democracy integrity. By maintaing oir neutrality, INP could focus on it's responsibility in guaranteeing safety and order while ensuring election would go fair, transparent, and free from interventions," Ibrahim said in his conclusion (ad/rz/pr/nm)
