Inp.polri.go.id - Makassar.  The Indonesian National Police (INP) strengthened academic collaboration by establishing Police Study Centers with Hasanuddin University (Unhas) and Muslim University of Indonesia (UMI) in Makassar on Wednesday (9/9/2026). 

Attending virtually from Jakarta, INP Deputy Chief Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo highlighted the partnership as a step to advance police science, enrich research, and support institutional transformation through academic expertise.

"We express our appreciation to the rectors and academic community for their commitment to creating these study centers," he said. "Higher education participation is a crucial step to expand academic collaboration in police science and support Polri's transformation."

The INP has signed 79 memorandums of understanding with universities nationwide, with 41 institutions currently operating Police Study Centers. 

Unhas Rector Jamaluddin Jompa noted that law enforcement and academia mutually benefit from combining practical field experience with cross-disciplinary research.
