The Head of Security Maintenance Agency Commissioner General Fadil Imran re-emphasized Indonesian National Police (INP) neutrality in the 2024 General Election. “In the Police Law, it is stated that police have to remain neutral. There are also several regulations of INP Chief that also states the same. Every commanders and leaders in any occasion and situation have always instructed police members to stay in the middle,” says Fadil in Cikeas, Bogor, on Wednesday (2/7/2024). According to Fadil, within the internal of INP, the institution has prepared a place specifically to report the issue. Moreover, the INP Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has stressed the law enforcement against police members who violate the regulations is strict. “If there are cases of police not being neutral, there are mediums for people to report the case, such as Propam and Irwasum. Outside the institution, I think there are also rooms or places to report the case,” says Fadil. During the rally in Bogor, Fadil explained that INP is focused in securing the election which is only less than one week away. He also urged people to exorcise their rights in coming to the polling stations and cast their vote. (ad/inp/hn/nm)
