Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) has reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy against narcotics offenses, emphasizing that no impunity will be granted to officers involved in drug trafficking or abuse.

The statement responded to an investigation by the Directorate of Narcotics Crimes at the INP Criminal Investigation Agency involving officers from the South Tangerang Regional Police.

INP Head of Public Relations Inspector General Johnny Edison Isir declared on Monday (27/7/2026) that law enforcement strictly enforces drug laws internally without exception.

"As a law enforcement institution mandated to eradicate all forms of crime, especially narcotics, which represent an extraordinary crime, the INP Pi does not tolerate any form of narcotics abuse, whether by the public or police officers," he said.

The investigation targets several South Tangerang Police officers suspected of involvement in illicit drug distribution, personal substance abuse, and power abuse during drug enforcement operations.

While the Directorate of Narcotics handles the criminal investigation to uncover the network's full structure, the Professional and Security Unit  of the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police is managing internal professional code-of-conduct proceedings.

Chief Isir assured the public that all criminal and ethical procedures will remain transparent and accountable.
