The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasized the importance of maintaining public order and security stability to support the investment climate and national development. He delivered this message during a public dialogue at the Police Science College (STIK), South Jakarta, Monday (9/29/2025).

"We must maintain public order and security stability so that the investment climate remains conducive and national development growth can continue to run optimally to achieve the goal of realizing public welfare," said General Sigit.

General Sigit alluded to the riots that occurred in several regions from late August to early September. According to him, these events had a direct impact on public order and security stability and the national economy.

"The riots that occurred from late August to early September certainly had an impact on public order and security instability and could disrupt the national economy, including raising concerns among investors who want to invest in Indonesia," he continued.

He stated that the riots not only caused material losses such as damage to public facilities, the House of Representatives building, and the police headquarters in various regions, but also resulted in casualties and immaterial impacts such as fear, anxiety, and trauma in the community.

"Therefore, it is important for us to ensure that freedom of expression is exercised in an orderly, peaceful, and responsible manner. Democratic space must remain alive, but it must not become a loophole for actions that hinder the nation's progress," stressed Chief Sigit.
