Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. The Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Sub-regional Police have officially named a Cameroonian citizen, identified as S, as a suspect in an assault case against a local Customs officer.
The case stems from an incident in which the foreign national claimed to have lost USD 5,000 during a Customs inspection and later posted the allegation on social media under the account @esty_linggar.
“The Cameroonian national has been named as a suspect, identified by the initial S,” said Senior Inspector Yandri Mono, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit at Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police, on Wednesday (1/10/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Authorities said CCTV footage shows the suspect physically assaulting a Customs officer on duty. He has been charged under Articles 352, 212, and 213 of the Indonesian Criminal Code for assault and obstructing a public officer.
The suspect has since returned to Cameroon, and police are coordinating with Interpol for further legal steps. Customs officials confirmed they fully defer the case to law enforcement.
