inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps emphasized that the Operation Patuh 2026 is not aimed to ticket as many people as possible, however to raise public awareness on traffic law.

The Head Ops of INP Traffic Corps, Senior Superintendent Turmudi explains the success of the operation is not only seen from the number of laws enforced, but from the changes of public behaviour in driving.

"Operation Patuh is not an opportunity to increase the number of traffic tickets. The success of the operation is measured by increased public awareness, compliance, and safety, not the number of enforcement actions," he explained Tuesday (10/27/2026).

According to him, the implementation of Operation Patuh must be oriented towards ensuring the safety and security of road users.

Enforcement will still be carried out against violations that have the potential to cause accidents, but must be balanced with education and public awareness.

This approach is expected to encourage the public to understand that compliance with traffic regulations is not solely to avoid sanctions, but also to protect themselves and other road users.

Through Operation Patuh 2026, INP Traffic Corps encourages the entire community to make safety a shared responsibility. By increasing driver awareness and discipline, it is hoped that safe, orderly, and secure traffic will be created.
