The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Suyudi Ario Seto emphasized the police's commitment to strengthening just law enforcement, improving the quality of public services, and maintaining security stability to support national development under the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
This commitment is realized through crime eradication, public protection, internal reform, and strengthening partnerships with the community. The INP Chief emphasized that the implementation of police duties must be able to respond to the needs of the community while keeping pace with security, social, and economic dynamics.
"We recognize that security stability is a crucial prerequisite for the sustainability of national development. Therefore, we are committed to continuing to maintain security stability and supporting the implementation of the government's Asta Cita (Government Priorities), particularly Asta Cita 2 and Asta Cita 7," Suyudi said in Jakarta on Tuesday (10/27/2026).
In law enforcement, the police continue to strengthen the eradication of drugs, online gambling, thuggery, extortion, and various criminal acts that harm the community. These efforts are also aimed at protecting the national economy, maintaining legal certainty, and creating a safe business climate.
INP also strengthens protection for women, children, workers, and victims of human trafficking. Through the Manpower Desk, the police facilitate the resolution of industrial relations issues, the restoration of workers' rights, and the resolution of labor disputes.
Furthermore, a humanistic approach continues to be prioritized in securing community activities, including demonstrations and handling social conflicts. INP encourages dialogic crowd management so that the public can safely express their aspirations, while also strengthening officer accountability through the use of body-worn cameras.
"This is done so that the public can express their aspirations safely and orderly. As part of strengthening accountability, we are also encouraging the use of body-worn cameras on our personnel in the implementation of their security duties," he said.
Police's presence is also demonstrated through disaster management, strengthening environmental security, and supporting government programs. In this regard, the police are involved in meeting the public's nutritional needs through the establishment and operation of Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG), the construction of the Red and White Bridge to expand public access, and strengthening food security by increasing corn production.
Chief Suyudi emphasized that these various efforts must be accompanied by ongoing internal reforms. Improvements are being made through strengthened oversight, the implementation of a merit system in career development, digital transformation, and increased transparency and accountability in services.
