inp.polri.go.id - A total of 22 residents of Central Sulawesi were arrested by the Special Detachment (Densus) 88 officers, assisted by the Central Sulawesi Police (Polda Sulteng).
This was conveyed by the Central Sulawesi Police Chief (Kapolda Sulteng), Inspector General Drs. Rudy Sufahriadi at a press conference at the Central Sulawesi Police Headquarters, Wednesday (18/5/22).
"Among these 24 people, 19 are from Poso, three from Ampana, one was arrested in East Kalimantan, and another person is from Bekasi," explained Kapolda Sulteng.
He mentioned, 22 Central Sulawesi residents who were arrested respectively had the initials of IR, RA, BS, FM, SH, AW, HR, LY, IS, RK, TR, IS, MB, MR, RK, EA, SM, AM, DM, DR, TL and FS.
He further explained that they were arrested because they were suspected of going to carry out a series of activities, including training at Mount Biru Poso.
They also owned and kept a revolver-type homemade firearms. In addition, he has also renewed their allegiance to the leader of the banned ISIS organization, and has also carried out several obligatory training activities or called Idad.
"Before they act, it is obligatory for them to do Idad. After that, they can only do Amaliyah (or strike) according to their way," said the Two-Star General.
Furthermore, he said, they also provided logistical and financial support for the Poso East Indonesia Mujahidin (MIT) group. They also intended to join MIT, as well as posting a prevocational content on social media and lure the people to do suicide bombing.
“This siuicide bombing is very possible, because they have done Idad several times. For this reason, Densus and the Central Sulawesi Police quickly arrest them," explained Kapolda Sulteng.
Based on the coordination with Densus 88, Kapolda Sulteng confirmed that the suspected member of MIT Poso only left one person, namely Pak Guru, and according to the witness testimony, both a resident and his friend stated that it is indeed only Pak Guru left.
"However, we are still looking for Nai when we last shot him in our last ambush. We are still looking for where his body is buried,” said the Kapolda while showing pictures of two MIT Poso DPOs.
He also asked Pak Guru to surrender immediately. "If there is only one left, it is better to surrender, so that Central Sulawesi can be safe from the terro," said Kapolda Sulteng.
