inp.polri.go.id - The North Sulawesi Police (Polda Sulut) managed to uncover a case of smuggling illegal firearms which were allegedly smuggled from the Philippines.
North Sulawesi Police Chief (Kapolda Sulut), Inspector General Mulyatno in the press said that he had arrested two people with the initials of OM (18) and FM (22) and evidence were able to be secured.

This case was initially known based on the information from the public regarding the alleged smuggling of firearms.
The information was then immediately followed up by Minut Police personnel who managed to secure OM, in the Kalawat District, Minut Regency, on Sunday 15 May 2022 at around 06.00 WITA.
"After a search of OM was carried out, we are able to secure a firearm of UZI semi-automatic rifle and 15 rounds of 9mm caliber ammunition," said General Bintang Dua.
The two suspects were charged with Article 2 paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 12 of 1951 concerning illegal possession of firearms, ammunition or explosives without a valid permit.
