Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) clarified that alleged research fraud involving its alumna is an individual matter and unrelated to the university’s academic activities.
A graduate of the Mathematics Master’s Program in 2022, identified as Prihantini, was accused of presenting manipulated findings at the ISPPD conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 17 to 21 May 2026, according to antaranwes.com.
“ITB views Prihantini’s actions as a legal matter of an individual. If legal proceedings arise, ITB respects the process,” said Aep Patah, the Dean of ITB’s Faculty of Mathematics and Sciences, on Thursday (28/5/2026).
He clarified that her presentation was not connected to her thesis or ITB’s academic work.
Dean Aep highlighted ITB’s commitment to integrity in research, strengthening oversight of scientific output to protect its reputation. The Ministry of Higher Education also confirmed that those named in the case are not active lecturers in Indonesian universities but noted the issue could affect perceptions of the national research ecosystem.
