Inp.polri.go.id - Bandung. Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) confirmed on Friday (9/5/2025) that it is coordinating with various parties following the arrest of a student from the Faculty of Art and Design for posting a meme of President Prabowo Subianto on social media.

“In response to news on this matter, we can confirm that ITB has been in intensive coordination and collaboration with various parties,” said Nurlaela Arief, the ITB’s Director of Communication and Public Relations, as quoted by antaranews.com.

She added that ITB is also working with the student’s parents and the university’s Parent Association (IOM) to handle the issue. The student’s parents visited the campus and conveyed their apology to the university.

The Indonesian National Police (INP) have earlier confirmed the arrest of a woman, identified by initials SSS, for uploading the meme on platform X.  The INP said that she  is being charged under multiple articles of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law)
