Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia and Norway have expressed joint support for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ efforts to reform the United Nations system to ensure it remains adaptive, relevant, and aligned with its founding mission.

"In our meeting, we emphasized the importance of cross-regional support for ambitious UN and multilateral system reforms," said Deputy Foreign Minister Arrmanatha Nasir after discussions with his Norwegian counterpart, Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik, on Friday (9/5/2025).

The meeting focused on the UN80 Initiative, launched by Guterres in March 2025 to address structural challenges and modernize the global body. Both sides agreed that a functional multilateral system and a rules-based global order are essential, particularly amid current geopolitical shifts, according to antaranews.com.

They reaffirmed their commitment to the UN Charter, international law, and the organization’s principles and objectives.
