Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The government will not suspend its Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program despite growing calls for a full review after mass food poisoning sickened hundreds of students in West Bandung.
“There are demands for a total evaluation, some suggest a temporary halt, others say improvements can be made while the program continues. But stopping it entirely is not necessary,” Deputy State Secretary Juri Ardiantoro told reporters at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday (24/9/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
He said the government will press ahead with MBG while tightening oversight and enforcing corrective measures in response to the West Bandung incidents. President Prabowo Subianto has instructed stricter supervision and risk mitigation to prevent similar cases.
Deputy State Secretary added that ministries and the National Nutrition Agency (MBG) are coordinating a comprehensive review. Authorities insist public safety remains the top priority, while keeping the flagship nutrition program running for millions of schoolchildren.
