Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta administration has intensified preventive measures to address potential tidal flooding expected to affect the capital’s northern coastal areas until 7 January 72026.
The steps are taken in response to forecasts of elevated sea levels that could disrupt public activities and infrastructure.
“We have mobilized all available resources, including pumps, floodgates, and emergency embankments, to minimize the impact of seawater overflow,” Jakarta Water Resources Agency Head Ika Agustin Ningrum said on Saturday (3/1/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.
The measures include operating stationary and mobile pumps, activating floodgates, deploying rapid-response field teams, and constructing temporary coastal embankments in vulnerable zones such as Muara Angke, Ancol, and Marunda. Authorities are also coordinating with disaster management units to ensure swift response.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant, monitor official updates, and report emergencies through designated public channels.
