The Provincial Government of Jakarta presents 2024 Free Homecoming Program with hundreds of buses ready to accommodate 27 thousand people. “In 2024, Jakarta Provincial Government is planning to have Free Homecoming Program with hundreds of buses going to 19 different cities and regencies in six provinces of Java and Sumatra that would accommodate more than 27 thousand people,” said the Acting Governor of Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono quoted from Antara on Thursday (2/29/2024). In detail, the provincial government prepares 259 buses for the homecoming and 210 buses for the return. Moreover, the government would also prepare 13 trucks to carry the motorcycles for the homecoming and 10 others for the return. The Free Homecoming Program is in collaboration with Jakarta Traffic Office and related stakeholders, also entrepreneurs. The initiative is taken to facilitate Jakartans who want to go homecoming in this year’s Ramadan by bus. Other than facilitating Jakartans with free bus, the step is also to prevent them from traveling far with excessive luggages by motorcycles. (ad/inp/pr/nm)
