inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police ensured that the security and public order situation in Jakarta and its surrounding areas remained conducive following the demonstration.
Public activities, from offices, education, commerce, and public transportation, continued as normal. Police also remained on standby to ensure security and provide services to the public.
Head of Public Relations for the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto, stated that maintaining a calm situation was the police's primary concern so that the public could return to their activities safely.
"The most important thing right now is to maintain a calm and safe situation so that the public can carry out their activities properly," Budi said in Jakarta, Friday (8/28/2026).
Budi appealed to all parties to exercise restraint and not be easily provoked. The public was also asked not to spread unverified information to ensure the situation remains safe and conducive.
According to him, the police continue to monitor public activities and ensure that public services continue to run optimally. Security and personnel deployment at several locations are being carried out according to the situation and developments on the ground.
"Traffic flow engineering and personnel deployment in the field are being carried out situationally, according to developments on the ground," he said.
Budi emphasized that the INP continues to respect the public's right to express their aspirations in public spaces. However, this right must go hand in hand with the rights of others to work, study, travel, and use public facilities safely.
"Jakarta is a shared space. Aspirations must be given space, public activities must continue, and everyone's safety must be protected," Budi said.
