Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo confirmed that the suspected perpetrator of the explosion at SMAN 72 Jakarta has been identified and is currently undergoing surgery at a hospital.

“The suspect has been found. Our officers are investigating the suspect’s identity, background, and residence. Further details will be shared once the joint team from the Metro Jaya  Police and Densus 88 completes its investigation,” he said at the Merdeka Palace on Friday evening (7/11/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.

The explosion occurred around 12.15 pm at SMAN 72 high school, located within the Navy Housing Complex in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta. Two people, including the suspect, are undergoing surgery, while dozens of others suffered minor injuries and have been discharged.

Police found toy weapons and written materials at the scene, which are now being analyzed to determine the suspect’s motive. Authorities confirmed there were no fatalities.
